Imagining and collaborating

Posted by on January 28, 2014

Year 5 imagined they had escaped from a camp, like the one in the story The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas. We had to find things left in the woods by an ally (can you remember what we said an ally way?). The children had to decide who they would work with to build a shelter with things they found. It was brilliant to see how much collaboration there was, especially when some groups joined together to make a bigger shelter. The children then worked together in groups to decide which other items they would choose to take with them. They had to give ideas and reasons for things they chose. I was impressed with how the groups worked out which items to take with everyone agreeing on their groups items. Well done.

I don’t know about you, but I’m glad to be in the warm now – especially after staying to take all of your shelters down. You really do like tying knots and using lots of string year 5!
