Forest School Holiday Club

Posted by on July 22, 2014

Today was our first ever Forest School holiday club. We only had a small group so we were able to have a go at some new things that it is difficult to do when we have larger groups.
Thank you to WCPS children for making Lottie’s little boy, Kale, so welcome on his first ever forest school afternoon.
The plan for this afternoon was to make bows and arrows! That was the plan – we did manage to make some – some were more successful than others. We used sheath knives today, it wasn’t as easy as it looks but everyone persevered and remembered the things that keep us safe when using them.
When we went to make the fire, everyone had a go at lighting some tinder, again, that’s not as easy as it looks but everyone managed it.

Thank you for your help Lottie, be careful with your awesome bow and arrow!

We have been practising how to use it safely in the garden! It’s our new favourite toy 🙂
