I was quite fed up this morning when I went into the woods to make sure things were safe before I set things up for today’s groups. When I got into the area that is mainly used for the children in our Children’s Centre and the Foundation Stage classes, I found it in a bit of a mess. The main thing was that the ‘play house’ front had been broken quite a lot. This meant I had to spend time fixing it and making sure the area was safe.
It was really important for me to be able to do this because our under twos are starting to go down every week now the weather is getting warmer, and today was their first day!
I soon cheered up when we got the little ones to the woods, some of them hadn’t been before, and when they stepped in to the woods their faces lit up with huge smiles! They had so much fun mixing mud and splashing in muddy water.
This afternoon some of our two year olds went to the woods, last week was their first time. I was so pleased with how they had remembered things from last week, and noticed things that were different. I especially enjoyed watching how the children worked out how to swing on the tyre swing.
