I enjoyed Â watching the children playing this afternoon. One of the groups had made a game up using sticks and stones. They made up rules for the game and a scoring system.
I loved getting to know McKenzie this morning. It was his first time in the woods. He is such a chatterbox, it is so lovely to hear. I was so impressed with how he was really careful and knew where the sharp brambles were. He told me too, so that I wouldn’t hurt myself.
Year one came to the woods this afternoon. The children quickly got busy choosing what to do. I was so impressed to see some of the children noticing when their friends needed help.
We had some visitors this morning. F1 showed them how super they are at listening. In the woods we stretched our noticing muscles, we enjoyed using the blindfolds and feeling things. We thought of some super describing words.
This morning’s group had to really focus and listen so that they were safe when we used the knife. It is really important to use it the correct way, it takes a lot of skill and perseverance. I was really impressed with how the boys started off. Next week we will practice some more.
This afternoon year one carried on learning about our different trees. I was so impressed with how much they remembered from last week. F2 explored in the swamp. Lots of the children used clay and pipe cleaners to make swamp spiders. Â There was lots of good sharing this morning.Â
Kyle and Harrison found treasure maps today. They talked about different directions as they played, using a compass to try and find the treasure.
Year 6 had fun this Â afternoon, we explored a little and decided we want to use a different part of the woods next week. As the boys have been reliable making the right choices,next week we are going to make hot chocolate.
Cirp were making traps this morning to try and catch the Gruffalo. The boys had some super ideas, they were thinking of Â different ways to catch the Gruffalo.
