Year two stretched their imagination muscles this morning, actually they stretched lots of learning muscles. It was so much fun. We went to Troll Land and heard about how all the fairies and little people had lost their homes. It was really cold in the woods today but it didn’t stop F2 SJ and year 5 doing some super learning. Look at what we have been doing today.
Year 1 classes are going to be learning about the Great Fire of London this half term. This afternoon we made houses, we stretched our imagination muscles and created a model of London. We tried to recreate how the fire started and how it spread.
We have lots of fun on Friday afternoons. It is such a privilege to watch the our older children guiding and supporting our youngest children.
Last week Aiden pretended he was camping. He decided to make a pretend campfire, I was really impressed with how he remembered all the things I do when we make a fire especially because he was able to tell me how we make sure we do it safely.
The boys from year 1 were really excited to see the den they made last week was still in the woods. They loved hearing how children from other groups had been playing in it since last week.
The children from the children’s centre really persevered this morning when they were making bird feeders. We stretched our noticing muscles and listened for birds.
F1 didn’t mind the cold this morning although it made it very tricky to thread Cheerios to make bird feeders. Some of the children really persevered and managed to thread lots. The other children played together, they especially enjoyed playing in a den they found in the woods.
Today the children made bird feeders using sticks, string and Cheerios. The children had to persevere to thread them into the string. We then hung them up in the woods for the birds to eat.
